Is forward or aft better on cruise ship. Ships move side to side as it moves in the water so midship is the most stable part of the ship. Book Your Cruise Now. Answered 2 years ago Author has 24K answers and 17M answer views.
I always prefer Aft to Forward. The aft portion of a cruise ship tends to be quieter as well as its farther removed from the midship bustle of activity that might be just a few decks above or below you. The reason being if the ship is hitting the waves with the bow that wave is smoother the further back as the stern goes over it since a path so to speak has been cut through.
The forward cruise ship staterooms are the best location on a cruise ship. The middle of the ship gets the least movement. I think the aft cabins are better than the forward cabins in rough seas though.
The aft of a ship is the rear while the front of the ship is referred to as forward. Think bars lounges. Forward and aft areas were considered noisy and often not the most ideal areas for passengers that are susceptible to motion sickness.
Cruise Ship Terms. Mid ship is slightly better. Think bars lounges.
Forward will probably have more up and down movement and in bad weather may even get pounding noises from large waves hitting the bow. Of course the middle is optimal but I would definitely go aft instead of forward if I had to make that choice. The location can make getting around easier since you.
