Cruise Ship Tipped Over
MSC Cruises.
Cruise ship tipped over. Many larger ships than cruise ships have disappeared from rogue waves. This evening the Carnival cruise ship named Triumph is being towed into Mobile Bay Ala and is expected to dock by midnight. What these people dont know is that a cruise ship can roll to almost 60 degrees before its in danger of tipping over.
Now if the center of gravity were in the middle of the ship 31 m above the water line it would indeed not be very stable - any tilt beyond 25 would cause it to tip over. 1650 per person per day for guests in suites. However they are designed not to tip over completely.
As much as some people opt to remove gratuities on their account some give extra. Guests under 2 years old dont pay gratuity. A photograph taken early on January 14 2012 of the Costa Concordia after the cruise ship with more than 4000 people on board ran aground and keeled over off the Isola del Giglio an Italian.
1550 per person per day staying in mini-suites. In general cruise ships dont tip over even in rough seas. Can a rogue wave really tip over a cruise ship like in the movie Poseidon.
The ship tipping over is rarely of any real concern. Up until quite recently oceanographers believed that the largest rogue wave could not exceed about 20 metres 60 feet This was disproven when an oil platform recorded a wave 26 metres high. Plus cruise ships are built to withstand 50 foot 15 metres waves.
Guests over 2 years old and under 12 years old pay 625 per day. When we were on the Pride just a few weeks ago a whole. This Italian cruise ship ran aground on a reef off the coast of Tuscany Italy in January 2012 and toppled onto its side.
